Website redesign

A website redesign rebuilds the presentation of a site — its structure, type, imagery and navigation — while the business behind it stays the same. Done carelessly it can cost rankings and enquiries; done with preserved URLs, redirects and kept content, it should not.

Reviewed October 5, 2026. Prices are quoted per project; nothing on this page is a published price list.

What changes — and what must not

The look, the structure, the flow. Not the URLs that already rank, not the titles that bring impressions, not the enquiry route that converts. Those are assets; a redesign that throws them away pays for the new design twice.

The ranking risk

Thrown-away URLs and titles are the classic redesign failure: the new site launches, the old pages 404, and Search Console impressions fall off a cliff. The fix is boring — map every old URL to its new home, redirect, and watch Search Console for four weeks.

Repair first

Often the honest answer is a repair list, not a redesign: broken layouts, slow pages, forms that do not deliver. We inspect first and quote the smaller option when it is the smaller option.

What a good redesign keeps

The page that brings enquiries, the descriptions that already rank, the content that answers, and a written change list so you can see what moved in Search Console rather than guessing.

Questions

Will a redesign hurt my SEO?

It can, if URLs, page titles or content are thrown away carelessly. Done properly — URLs preserved or redirected, titles carried over, changes logged — it should not, and you can verify the difference in Search Console.

How is a redesign different from a repair?

A repair fixes what is broken and keeps the presentation. A redesign rebuilds the presentation and keeps the business. We quote the smaller option when the smaller option is the honest answer.
