Do you use a website builder?
No. We write the pages by hand — HTML, CSS and JavaScript — which is why they load quickly and do not break when a platform changes its pricing. The trade-off is that edits happen in code, or through a small editor we add for the parts you change often, rather than through a drag-and-drop dashboard.

The short answer
Every Firmitas site is hand-written. No page builder, no proprietary platform, no monthly platform fee. You own the source outright, another developer can pick it up tomorrow, and the pages are fast because nothing sits between them and the browser.
What hand-coding buys you
Speed (nothing to load but your content), stability (a platform changing its pricing or terms cannot break your site), portability (a static site runs on any host), and independence (no licence, no lock-in, no rent). It is also why the pages work without JavaScript and read well to machines — AI assistants crawl plain HTML happily.
The honest trade-off
You do not get a drag-and-drop dashboard. Edits are made in code — fine if you are comfortable in it — or as small fixed-price pieces, or through a simple editor we add for the parts that change often, such as prices or a menu. If you want to redesign the whole site yourself every week, a builder is the right tool and we will say so.
When a builder is the right answer
If you want to edit daily, yourself, without a developer, and speed and ownership matter less to you than convenience — a builder is legitimate. We will tell you when that is the honest call, because a cheaper conversation now beats a rebuild later. Read the full comparison.
Questions
Will my site work without JavaScript?
The content does. We build so the page reads, the navigation works and the enquiry route exists even when scripts fail or are blocked, with the motion as the enhancement rather than the mechanism. That is also what makes the pages fast.
Can I edit the site myself?
Yes for text and images, if you are comfortable in code. If you would rather not, we quote edits as small fixed-price pieces, or we can add a simple editor for the parts you change often — menus and prices are the usual candidates.
Can I host it somewhere else?
Yes. It is a static site, so any host will serve it. Move it whenever you like, with or without telling us. Handover includes everything needed to do that.
Tell us what you need. Send a few rough lines and we will come back with a scope, a fixed price and a delivery date in writing.
